| The Engineering Technology Center, a statewide project of the California Department of Education, provides coordination and guidance to partnerships between industry and educators at high schools, community colleges, and universities. | In regions where a large base of available jobs requires employees with strong technical knowledge and skills, professionals in business and education are working together, developing a standardized path of courses throughout all levels of schooling. | Ultimately, by focusing the attention of high school students on engineering and related career paths through applied mathematics, science and language skills, the current and growing need for engineers and their counterparts in technology will be filled. |
