I prefer "The Trifles" versus "A Jury of Her Peers" of Glaspell's story because drama gives the reader a better emotional feeling to the situation. In a short story the setting is assumed not described, but in the drama the setting is established. This gives me a better flavor for the emotion that is not being expressed by text. As a reader I prefer to have a better understanding of each characters emotional background. I have a greater empathy with the character when I can understandnd a little more about thier background coming into the story. The emotions that is preform by each characters during each settings can explain a lot about what has happened, what is going to happen and what will become of the situation. I find this to be much more interesting than the stale version of the story without the emotional supplement.
