Hi Sara,
I actually preferred listening to the play as it starts in Mrs. Hale's kitchen. I felt like I was there and felt her urgency and dismay without actually having it described to me. I like how both the story and the written play tie in using both women's kitchens.You're right in concluding that since both kitchens were messy, and we know why Mrs. Hale's was in that condition, then we can conclude or sympathize as to why Mrs. Wright's was. I also enjoyed reading the short story instead of the written play because it flowed better and I felt interrupted in the play.
