I agree that dreams are needed. It offers us hope and keeps us from getting down on ourselves or feeling despair. In a sense, it keeps us living. What you said about Walter needing his dream to explode is really good and I agree. It did get him to finally stop living in his dream and realize his family is waiting for him to be the man he can be.
