I like the word usage of dutiful and obident. That is exactly what women were expected to be and Adele was that while Edna was the opposite. I also agree that Edna cannot find happiness, she ends up drowned heself bebause she is lost. The men are less in contrast, but I still see them as very different. Robert finally decides to respect the tradtion and authority of society by leaveing Edna.
