Edna was definately not your typical Creole woman as Emily points out. I believe that Edna was ahead of her time in her thoughts as far as how a woman fits into society goes and what rights that woman has as it would relate mostly to what is being said in the Seneca Falls Declaration that women ought to have rights equal to the rest of society.
