I stand by my first impression of "The Fish" particularily with respect to the reverence the author had for the fish appearance. This author as well uses extensive metaphor and image in describing the fish. Much of the description of the fishes anatomy almost make me think of a human being, and wonder about the symbolism the author is creating.
