Imagery was used in this poem to describe the fish and all its wonder. How beautiful the fish was extracts emotion out of readers because they sympathize with it. I wasn't too sympathetic towards the fish because it wasn't putting up a fight to be caught as it should. The fisherman was very observant of what he had caught and appreciated its beauty. The fisherman also showed his appreciation for the fish by releasing it.
