I like what you brought up about the fisherman catching his first fish. He did describe it with such pride. He was so proud of what he had done and that he had caught his first fish. And maybe since it was his first catch he felt remorse for the fish and let it go. After reading the element I was also able to notice the tone better, which helped me better understand the poem.
