Hearing the poem and reading how the elements of poetry work in this poem changed my first impression and enhanced my understanding of the poem. Reading on line about elements of poetry helped me to better understand this piece of literature. First of all I realized that poetry was different in the seventeenth century which explains differences in the language. The use of Metaphor helped me understand the essential idea of this poem.
