Hi Michael,

As I read your interpretation of the poem, I must say that I am unclear why you feel it is necessary that this poem illustrate ulimately the poet physical lust for her instead of his true love for her.

>I thought that it was interesting the meter change and how it sped up a great deal near the end of the poem. At the beginning when he is talking about what he would do if he had forever, he is very drawn out compared to the end of the poem. I also think that it is interesting that he is trying to seduce her in this fantasy way and with this elegant picture but at the end it boils down to his physical lust for her.
