For the poetry essay, I have decided to choose choice 3, which is the explication essay. The poem I'll be explicating is titled "Mr. Z," by M. Carl Holman. This poem really struck me as I read towards the end. I re-read it again, and realized that even the first line is striking. I'd like to explicate this poem because for one, it deals with self-identity. Secondly, explicating will allow me to dissect each line, which will help me further interpret the poem.
