I chose choice two, “How do Jimmy Santiago Baca and Sandra Gilbert use imagery and ethnicity to create meaning in "Green Chile" and "Mafioso?". I chose this because I think that I will be able to write the most on this topic with the most detail. Understanding poetry has always been hard for me, but the elements of poetry I can understand and definitely can help me understand these two poems. I will probably discuss what imagery and ethnicity are and how they are related to the poems briefly. Then go into detail about how the elements directly relate to each poem individually using quotes as evidence to support my idea. I’m still brainstorming on how I will exactly organize this essay. I am still trying to come up with ideas on how to present these poems because poems are still a mystery to me.
