Welcome to Summer 2009 Statistics 301 hybrid class.

Here is what needs to be done for the first week of classes.

1. Purchase the textbook Elementary Statistics 4^th Edition by Larson and Farber bundled with MyMathLab access code (not MathXL code).

2. Register your Access code with CourseCompass as follows:

· Go to www.coursecompass.com then click on Students Register

· If you are using for the first time the online features of this edition of the book, make sure Get access to a new course is selected then click next. If you are using this same edition of the book and have an access code from prior semester, select continue a course, retake a course or switch to a different course section then click next

· Type in the course ID: rutaganira47562 then hit Enter

· If you have the access code then select Access Code and enter it in the provided place. If you want to buy the access code separately from the book, then select Buy now then click Buy. You will be asked to enter your credit card information

· You will then be asked to choose your login name, your password and the email you will be using in connection with this class. Do not forget to finish the registration process by hitting the “Enter” key.

You are now ready to use your coursecompass account. Just go to www.coursecompass.com, click on login then enter your login name and your password. A list of your coursecompass classes will be displayed. Choose the one you want to work on and start working.

For this first week, you should read chapter 1 and chapter 2 then do the corresponding homework (1.1, 1.2, 1.3, 2.1, 2.2, 2.3, 2.4 and 2.5 as well as the on-paper homework on chapter 1 and chapter 2 quizzes)
