COURSE WEBSITE: Will be provided at the orientation meeting PREREQUISITES: ENGWR 51 and ENGRD 15 or ESLR 310 and ESLW 310 ADVISORY: Touch typing RECOMMENDED CO-REQUISITE: DESCRIPTION: This course is designed to prepare the student for business communication. It presents principles of correct and effective English usage as applied in business. Included are skills and techniques of written communication, sentence structure, word usage, punctuation, spelling, business vocabulary, and business document formatting. Emphasis is placed on critical thinking and effective writing techniques by analyzing written communication and composing and organizing paragraphs into effective business documents. Proofreading skills are stressed throughout the course. This course is required of all business technology majors and recommended for all business majors.

CLASSROOM PROCEDURES:
Students are required to complete assignments and participate
in the classroom Discussion Area (at least once a week). You will use
a textbook, a reference manual, Website, and other resources
to complete all assignments, guide sheets, and exercises. Professional
behavior is expected of all students. You are expected to abide by
school rules/regulations. You are solely responsible for the
preparation and presentation of your assignments. Each written
activity and exam should be your own work. ATTENDANCE:
A student is expected to participate regularly online
(assignments, tests, and/or participation).
The student accepts full responsibility for following the
proper procedure for dropping a course.
A student who neither completes the course nor drops the course
