Why
I don't do
e-mail:
(Forget
the
internet.
Just talk to
me!)
Each
semester I have
between 250-300
students on my
rosters. That's
too many
potential
e-mailers to
have to respond
to, especially
when there are
other ways to
communicate.
I prefer to
communicate in
person.
Most things you
wish to
communicate can
be done by
seeing me
before or after
class, or
during my
posted office
hours.
If
that doesn't
work, try
leaving a
message on my
office phone
machine
(484-8502).
I'm pretty good
about getting
back to
you. I
also have a
traditional
"snail"
mailbox in the
Fine and
Applied Arts
Division office
over on the
north end of
campus.
Please
don't bother
contacting me
if you are
going to miss
one single
class. I
probably won't
know you by
name anyway, so
it would be
virtually
useless. If you
miss a class
it's your
responsibility
to get notes
from someone
and find out
what we
discussed that
day.
On
the other hand,
if you are
signed up for a
class of mine
and plan on
missing the
first day, I
strongly
suggest you
leave me a
phone message
saying
"please
don't drop
me."
Thanks.
