The documents, in the following order, must include:
Title Page: Vertically--centered page with Business Name, Student Name, Date, Course Title and Number, Instructor's Name, and College name.
Table of Contents--ordered list of hyperlinked documents in the portfolio with page numbers ( documents should not have page numbers inserted or printed) These page numbers are for reference only.
Updated Business Design Plan--details of the business on which the portfolio documents are based. This should be updated during the course to keep the information consistent. A sample format is posted on the Blackboard site.
Open House Memo--comprehensive communication to the business's employees containing the details of the Open House and their responsibilities during this event in standard memo format.
Invitation Flyer or Letter--a one page communication to the business's current or prospective customers, suppliers, and possibly the general public to an informational reception to be held in order to promote business, introduce a new product/s, open a new location, or other special features. Personal appearances, food, music, entertainment, door prizes, discounts or other incentives should be mentioned.
Brochure--Using Word's brochure template, create a 2 page, 3 column brochure to promote your business. Required 2 graphics, your business logo, a table, and Word Art in this document. Theoretically, this would be distributed at the Open House, by sales representatives or in your reception area.
PowerPoint Project--10 to 15 slide presentation of your business--include a Title and End page, Company information, Product information, Special events, Community Service/Activity, Employee of the Month, History or Founder information, and any other applicable information. This will be shown at your Open House and/or displayed in your lobby.
Any other documents you may want to include--Letterhead, Resume, Calendar, Forms, or any document you think will add value to this portfolio.
Course Evaluation Memo addressed to the instructor--Standard memo format document evaluating the course and your experience in completing the activities. What was valuable in the course and suggested improvements.
Letter of Advice to next semester's students--Block Letter format, giving advice to next semester's students on steps to successfully completing this course.
Reference Page--if any information or ideas were derived from sources other than the text or your own personal experiences, list these sources and contact information. For example, websites, real businesses, persons consulted.
NOTE: The OYO projects must be unique and related to the business in your Business Plan. The Plan can be modified during the course but the final version submitted in the Final Portfolio must be consistent throughout all portfolio documents.
