Come join us for an exciting day of interactive learning especiallydesigned for teachers. This workshop builds on the Parallax microcontroller workshop. The Boe-Bot and Robotics!text can be used by teachers to give students a hands-on introduction to a variety of engineering topics such as modulation, demodulation, frequency harmonics, frequency sweep, control systems and proportional control, and pulse width modulation.Infrared emitter/detector pairs will be used on the Boe-Bot for object detection, distance detection, tracking and following objects and colored stripes and decoding a handheld TV remote.

The workshop is free of charge and all materials are supplied including the Boe-Bot and Robotics! text.

Topics/Activities

~Programming the Boe-Bot for basic movement, turns, ramping speed and reading directions stored in the EEPROM without input devices.

~Integrate concepts pertaining to program structuring to develop an advanced robotic application with inputs that sense objects and light.

~Make the robot find its way out of the room to a well-lit hallway.
