Means of Communication:

Because this is an online course, all communication (including instructor to student, student to instructor, and student to student) is through e-mail (iMail only) and discussion boards. The subject line of ALL emails sent to the instructor should begin with the acronym of this course, LA 300 Online, followed by a brief description of the content. All questions except those of a personal nature should be posted to the weekly discussion board. Please include your real name.  With over 200 students it is impossible for  me to remember everyone's e-mail 'handle,' even if we have communicated several times in one day.

You must go to the iMail webpage for information on how to make it work for you! This information is found at https://imail.losrios.edu/

Course Materials:

bulletIn addition to your textbook, other course materials will be posted on the course website at http://blackboard.losrios.edu
bulletVisit the site and bookmark it so that it is easy to return when you need to get something or communicate.
bulletYou only need a web browser to view the web pages.
bulletIn general, I will contact students separately only when the issue is a private one.  All students are assigned an  iMail account upon registering with ARC.  It is vital that you activate your  iMail account and configure it with your preferred e-mail address so it will forward all emails sent to your  iMail account. You should check your mail regularly and connect to the course website regularly to check for important announcements and postings on the 'Announcements' page and course discussion boards.
