Having problems?
If you are having problems like a BIG RED X over the world, try downloading one of these files.
Important- these files have the WRONG file extension. I renamed them all whatever.kmy. All you have to do is rename it to whatever.kmz. Get it, I just changed the last letter from z to y. Change it back to kmz and it should work just fine.
Note to above: I just copied one to my desktop, opened Google Earth and told Google Earth to open it. I used File>Open and set the bottom drop-down menu to read "All files (*)", but it opened it up no problem.

And here are the funky ones that you need to rename to xxxxxxx.kmz:
