Careers in Aging
Gerontologists are individuals who study the biology, psychology and sociology of aging. According to the Administration on Aging web site many have been preparing to meet the challenge of the aging of baby-boomers in the beginning of this new century for a number of years. "Significant in planning for the future is the creation of and support of an adequate workforce. A workforce flexible enough to address the preferences of the aging baby-boomers, yet sufficiently skilled to support the challenging needs of an even older generation".
"This page is for individuals who are interested in working with older adults and seek information on academic and professional opportunities in the field of aging. It includes sites with general overview of careers in aging; sites with resources on educational opportunities in the field of aging; and links to general career planning resources, federal government employment and training opportunities, and prospects for future employment".
