Hello Gary, I also agree the shift does change the emphasis alot. In the short story the emphasis is on being judged by those of equal nature. However, when the story is shifted to the play "Trifles" the meaning shifts drastically. We change from a women being in jail for murder to how unimportant women are. All of this by changing a title,because the story line is pretty much all the same.
