The short story did give more details throughout it than the play. The story had to because it doesn't offer the same visual elements that the play does. the name is fitting in the stroy because the main focus is on Mrs. Wright's peers judging her and her crime. Where as Trifles does veiw women's lives as less important as you said. The different names for each the story and the play give way for their meanings as you said.
