I agree Robert did view woman as objects of his sexual desire, although he fancied women more than Mr. Pontellier who thrived on business and financial success Robert saw woman as a way to quinch his lustful thirst and nothing more. Edna in someways had a very male sexual appetite as well and was not afraid to put it out there and in many ways was like Robert in that aspect. Adele was the typical stereotype of what the society thought a wife should be and was happy with that role, and Edna believed that there was no definition to that role and did not have the want to fill that role.
