Yes, I agree when you say that Edna was NOT a typical housewife. The Seneca Falls Declaration allows the reader to understand just how defying Edna was. At the same time, it also allows the reader to realize that Mr. Pontellier was actually a very good husband, despite the fact that she just did not love him.
