The elements helped me understand some of the adjectives the author used to describe the fish more clearly. The use of the words did not seem weird or unusual. I was able to understand why the author did that and how to find it in the poem. After reading about the tone and going back to the poem I was able to get an idea of what the fish was feeling like and how it was acting to show its feelings. Reading over the elements helped decode the confusing reading of poetry.
