I understood many of the metaphor much more clearly after reading the insights into the poem. Also, some of the wording was explained so I was able to understand some of that better. The poem has a beauty to it, maybe because it was written in the 17th century and uses flowery words. I also had not previously paid much attention to the meter, but it was interesting to see how it does progress and becomes quicker towards the end.
