The poem is about boy’s memory of his father. It is a very rough memory because the father was drunk and his breath could make a boy dizzy. The mother wasn’t happy about the situation. The poem id about love because the author is writing about his father. The reader learns that the family wasn’t rich and the father was a hard working person which makes it a good memory. However, it might be not the best memory because the father was drunk.
