Diagrams for Mid-term #2

Hey! you should be able to diagram and label or explain the following things:
  1. 10 types of clouds, including their altitude (high, mid, low, or clouds of vertical development) and name
  2. conditions necessary to create a lenticular cloud and a cumulonimbus cloud
  3. cold front and warm front Include the names of the air masses, the width of the fronts, the speed of the fronts, and the altitude and type of clouds associated with each type of front.
  4. the hydrologic cycle
  5. the water-balance equation
  6. the factors that make a monsoonal climate
  7. the factors that make a desert climate
  8. the factors that make a Mediterranean climate
  9. diagram the layers of the earth from the core to continental crust, including temperature and physical state (if important) and density.
  10. What are some of the main supports for the theory of plate tectonics.
  11. List the dates for the following: age of Earth, age of oldest rock, life, break-up of Pangaea, extinction of dinosaurs, beginning of Pleistocene.
  12. Describe a sub-climate. Include its location, the factors that cause it, the distribution of temperature and precipitation throughout the year, and the precipitation (lifting) mechanisms that bring rain.
  13. Draw and label a mid-latitude cyclone during both the open (rotation) and occluded phases. Include: the wind directions and air masses involved; cross sections of warm, cold, and occluded fronts; the front’s width, speed, and cloud types and altitudes.
  14. Take a parcel of air from the surface to 6km with a given relative humidity and temperature. And also a given ELR. Show the stability, temperature, whether the parcel is cooling at the MAR or DAR, and humidity for the parcel each kilometer from the ground to 6 km. Show the temperature for the atmosphere for each kilometer from the ground to 6 km.
Good studying
