Course
Description:
This course explores human origins emphasizing
the evolution of human bodies and behavior.
During the course we will examine and discuss evolutionary
principles, genetics (the building blocks of our physical selves), the
fossil evidence, as well as compare humans to our closest living
relatives, the Primates. We will focus in particular on the anatomy
and behavior of the primates, with special emphasis on the Great Apes.
Bioethical issues in the field of anthropology will also be
considered in this course.
