Student Responsibilities

A Proctor Form entitled, “DSPS Academic Testing Accommodations Contract”, must be on file before taking your first exam at DSPS Academic Testing Services. Meet with your DSPS Counselor or DSPS Instructional Assistant in the Learning Disabilities Area, to discuss testing accommodations.  One proctor form per class.  Students who arrive after their scheduled start time will only receive the remaining scheduled time. 

 

No Drop-Ins:  Book a test room a week before the exam date.  Advise the scheduler if you need a Proctor to scribe or read, or use of a  computer.

 

YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR COMMUNICATING WITH YOUR PROFESSOR YOUR SCHEDULED EXAMS AT DSPS TESTING SERVICES AND THAT INCLUDES ANY AND ALL CHANGES OR NO SHOWS

  • Stow backpacks, phones, other electronic devices, purses and wallets in the DSPS Testing Services Locker with Lock (phones must be turned off).  We do not have rooms for backpacks on wheels; try to leave at home on day of exam.

  • No cell phones allowed in testing room.  No exceptions.

  • No students are  allowed to bring their own laptops to test in exam rooms.  No exceptions.

  • Materials used during testing (i.e. note cards, notes, blue books, etc.) must be checked and notes photocopied at the front counter.  No completed exams are photocopied for the student to keep.

ONLINE EXAMS ARE USUALLY SET AT A SPECIFIC TIME WITH THE PROFESSOR.  MAKE SURE YOU KNOW YOUR EXAM WILL BE ACCESSIBLE AT THE TIME YOU SCHEDULED.

Rescheduling of missed exams,

 can only be made with the permission of your Professor.

DSPS Testing Room  DSPS Testing Room

The Test Rooms are for academic exams only.   The rooms cannot be used for study time or meetings with tutors and in-class aides.  Materials used during testing (i.e. note cards, notes, scratch paper, blue books, scantron, etc.) will be returned to the professor in copied or original form.  Make arrangements for any returned items with your Professor. Everything you take in the test room will be check and notes photocopied.  Bathroom breaks will be noted and are part of the exam time. 

 

Cameras are in each room and the DSPS lobby.  Absolutely no Unethical Behavior Allowed.

Monday, Thursday, Friday :  8:30 a.m.  to   4:00 p.m.

Evening Hours are Tuesdays and Wednesdays: 8:00 a.m.  to  6:30 p.m.

Important to Know:

  • All students are contracted to reading the DSPS Testing Services Brochure.

  • Cheating is grounds for automatic dismissal from DSPS Testing Services.

  • Do not arrive late.

  • We average 2,000 exams per semester.

  • There are six DSPS academic test rooms.

  • No Drop-Ins.  Schedule exams in one week in advance.

  • Communication with your Professor/Counselor is vital. 

  • For your safety, there are cameras in each test room and lobby

  • We schedule for finals after each semester break:  exams are in group rooms of seven or less.  Students in need of a scribe, reader or computer are an exception to the rule.
