- In teaching this course, I want to make it as relevant as possible. You will use a real or imaginary business, company or situation as content for all the OYO assignments. These will make up the majority of documents in your Final Portfolio evaluation for this course. The outline for this situation is the first OYO assignment, the Business Design Plan. The instructor reserves the privilege of vetoing any inappropriate choice.
- Can’t think of a business? Go to:
http://www.businesstown.com/businessopps/newbiz-1000.asp
- If you are having difficulties thinking of content for any documents, as a student you are allowed to browse the web for business similar to the type of business you are simulating and borrow their materials. Document all sources in the Other Information section of the Business Design Plan document. Include Website Name, URL, Author or sponsoring entity, date accessed.
- Fill out the Business Design Plan as completely as possible. This is a working document and may be modified at any time during the semester. You will turn the Business Design Plan in with your Final Portfolio and all your Final Portfolio documents must correspond to the details in this document.
- Remember all your On Your Own assignments will be based on this business. These documents will be the basis of your Final Portfolio. You may want to display this portfolio to prospective employers in the future. The more realistic detail and professional appearance you create, the more impressive the portfolio and your grade will appear.
