After hearing the poem read, it made it more dramatic for me and I noticed parts of the poem that I had skimmed over while reading. Also, the elements of poetry made some things more clear to me and I was able to see how the poem flows and why the author used some of the elements that she did. Some of her metaphors made more sense to me and I found the alliteration interesting.
