Included are end-of-chapter projects, class discussions, hands-on familiarization with the telephone, fax, scanner, and all-in-one printer, an office simulation, and a short oral presentation or demonstration. Students may work in teams for most class activities.

File Management for Assignments

You will need a storage device to store all your homework files. On the storage device, create the following file structure for assignments:

Questions (folder name)

Chapter 1 Questions (file name)

Chapter 2 Questions

 

Punctuation Reviews

Chapter 1 Punctuation

Steps for Preparing Assignments

Store your assignments on a new disk in separate folders, which will be created in class. Keep printed copies in a notebook or portfolio.  Extra information may be stored in a miscellaneous folder.

To identify assignments, include a footer with the Chapter number and assignment identification at the left margin, the date centered, and your name at the right margin.

Sample Format for Review Questions:
Chapter 1 Questions

1.       List 10 characteristics of a good office employee.

A good office employee is dependable, projects a positive attitude, is courteous, reliable, and punctual, follows instructions, is a team worker, can think, and possesses good keyboarding, computer, and language arts skills.

Sample Format for Punctuation Review Sentences:

  1. Jerry, who was hired last year, has received a promotion.

  2. Because the machine was broken, the report was late.
