The microarray process

Long Description: The cDNA probe made from normal tissue is labeled with green fluorescent dye. The cDNA probe made from tumor tissue is labeled with red fluorescent dye. These probes are mixed, hybridized to the microarray and scanned with a fluorescence detector. Genes in the microarray that are expressed predominantly in tumor tissue show up as red spots. Genes expressed predominantly in normal tissue show up as green spots. Genes expressed both in normal and tumor tissue show up as yellow spots.
